The 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: Voting Rights (1870) was Passed by Congress on February 26, 1869, and ratified on February 3, 1870. The 15th Amendment granted African American men the right to vote. It no longer limited the right to vote to white land-owning men.
The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920 extended voting rights to women and prohibited the states from denying the right to vote based on sex.
The 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution of 1971 lowered the voting age from 21 to 18.
